Being a dad to a preteen son and a preschool daughter feels like living in two worlds at once. One is racing toward independence, while the other still clings to me with tiny hands—and both are growing up way too fast in front of my eyes. As a photographer, I find myself constantly chasing these moments, trying to hold onto the details that slip away so easily: the goofy grins, the stubborn attitudes, the hugs that I know won’t last forever. My camera has become my way of slowing time, of reminding myself to be present while they’re still here in these fleeting stages.
